Garðaflóra strives to increase knowledge and interest in gardening in Iceland by collecting information about garden plants cultivated in Iceland and making that information available to gardeners.
On this website plants are ordered alphabetically by their Latin name. This is done for practical reasons, that way plants within the same plant genus are grouped together, for example bluebells and hardy geraniums. When searching on-line for information about certain plants or ordering seed it's also very helpful to know the Latin name.
